East Midlands
East Midlands Airport is an international airport situated in the East Midlands of England. It is exactly located at Castle Donington in Derbyshire. It lies between, connecting cities including Nottingham which is just 15 miles from the airport, Leicester, located18 miles away and Derby which is 14 miles from the East Midlands Airport. All of these cities are a few minutes’ drive away from the airport so it is really easy to travel to and fro. East Midlands airport mainly serves the counties of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire, Lincolnshire, and South Yorkshire. The passenger numbers peaked in 2008; a total of 5.6 million travelers were noted back then. But according to the report of 2013, it declined to 4.3 million becoming the 11th busiest airport in the United Kingdom in terms of passenger traffic. It is also a major cargo hub and was the second busiest airport in United Kingdom for freight traffic in 2013.
